Singer-songwriter, Cale Dodds, has been named in Rolling Stone’s “New Country Artists You Need To Know.” Billboard and Rolling Stone both named Dodds’ 2018 CMA Fest performance as one of the best things they saw from the four-day music festival.
In October 2018, Cale Dodds released his new song, “What We Gonna Do About It;” which is the song he sang in the jam session portion of our This is Home video!
Cale Dodds Bedroom Tour
When Cale first moved to Nashville, he was living in a garage with a small twin bed. Cale joked that there were, “…two small rats named Pete in the corner.” He said that he likes to remember that space whenever he’s in his newly furnished master bedroom to remind him of how things have gotten better.
Cale showed us some amazing original Elvis Presley records that his grandmother got when she went to an Elvis show in high school. The records were a gift to Cale one Christmas. On that same wall he showed us other records that are important to him, such as the first country song he’s ever heard and the first vinyl he has ever received.
Cale Dodds Living Room Tour
A versatile room for Cale is the living room which also doubles as the rehearsal and work out room. Cale told us that he hosts his writing sessions on the sofas in the living room, but also rehearses with his band in that room before going on tour.
One of the centerpieces of the living room is an old radio that Cale’s dad used to listen to in college. He says it was, “the first radio that they grew up listening to country music on.”

We’re partnering with Big Green Egg to ensure your meals match the season in the most delicious way possible. A Large Big Green Egg allows home chefs to grill, smoke and even bake all of your favorite recipes with total control over temperature.
Dr. BBQ shared some of his delicious Big Green Recipes you won’t want to wait to try for yourself:
Grilled Pork Steaks with Crispy Potatoes
Ingredients:
● 2 pork blade steaks (1 lb each)
● Big Green Egg Citrus Dill Seasoning
● Big Green Egg Vidalia Onion Sriracha Barbecue Sauce (to taste)
● Olive oil
● 1 ½ lbs small red potatoes cut in half
● Black pepper
Instructions:
● Prepare the Egg to cook indirect at 325° with the EGGspander in place. Add 1 or 2 chunks of apple wood to the charcoal for smoke flavor.
● Add ¼ cup of oil to the small Big Green Egg skillet and preheat it on the bottom cooking rack for 15 minutes.
● In a medium bowl lightly oil the potatoes and season liberally with the Citrus Dill Rub and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly and cook for 15 minutes.
● Season the meat with the Citrus Dill Rub and place on the top cooking rack of the EGGspander so they’ll drip into the potatoes.
● After 30 minutes, flip the pork steaks, toss the potatoes and cook for another 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender and crispy.
● To kick up the flavor a notch, brush the pork steaks with the barbeque sauce and cook for 10 minutes on each side.

Big Green Egg items needed:
● 1 Large Big Green Egg
● 1 Eggspander
● 1 ConvEGGtor
● 1 Small Big Green Egg Skillet
● 2 Big Green Egg Citrus Dill Seasoning
● 2 Big Green Egg Vidalia Onion Sriracha Barbecue Sauce
● Big Green Egg Charcoal
● Butane EGGniter (or firestarters)
Spicy Grilled Shrimp Po’ Boys
Ingredients:
● 24 jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
● 4 Big Green Egg Wooden Skewers
● Olive oil
● Salt and pepper
● Big Green Egg Cayenne Pepper Hot Sauce
● 1 cup mayo
● Shredded lettuce
● 4 roma tomatoes, sliced
● 4 hoagie Rolls
● 6 scallions, cut thinly on the bias
Instructions:
● To get started, thread six shrimp onto each skewer – make sure you soak the skewers in water first for at least 15 minutes.
● Brush the shrimp with oil and season lightly with salt and pepper. Prepare the EGG to cook direct at 400°.
● Place the plancha ribbed side up on the cooking grate to preheat for 15 minutes. Add the shrimp and cook for about 2 minutes. Flip and brush liberally with the hot sauce… the more the better! Cook another 2 minutes, flip and brush again.
● Repeat until shrimp turn opaque then remove from heat.
● In a small bowl combine the mayo and 2 tablespoons of the Big Green Egg Cayenne Pepper Hot Sauce. Mix well and spread a thin layer on the top and bottom bread. Lay slices of the tomato on the bottom bun, then top with a handful of the shredded lettuce. Drizzle with a little more of the spicy mayo. Remove the shrimp from the skewers and layer on top.
● Finish with a drizzle of hot sauce and a sprinkle of scallions.
Notes: Makes 4 big sandwiches
